Volunteering
Volunteering is an American ideal. Civic responsibility and patriotism are core elements for building and sustaining healthy communities in this country. Volunteers have a number of motivations for giving back, and many relate to duty and social responsibility.
Since September 11, Americans have benefited from the renewed sense of pride and civic engagement during the ongoing recovery period after the attacks.
Volunteering is a family value! 57%, of American's say that they are from families where either one or both parents volunteered their time and skills. For many Donaldsonville families, volunteerism represents an opportunity to give back financially, to help sustain community-serving organizations and to foster civic-minded organizations.
Whether you are an individual or a group, Donaldsonville needs you. All across our city, there are short and long-term opportunities just waiting to be filled by willing volunteers.
The Donaldsonville Area Chamber of Commerce supports and promotes volunteering to enrich the life of the community. To find out the many ways to make a difference in the Donaldsonville community by volunteering, contact Becky Katz, Executive Director, at 225-473-4814 or dvillecoc@eatel.net.
